About Priddy Folk Festival

History

In 1991 the PTA started the Folk Festival as a fund raiser in the village hall. Since then, the Festival has grown, but still remains true to its roots. It is organised and run by a group of volunteers dedicated to bringing good music into Priddy and raising money for the village school and other village projects. This year is our 21st Birthday Folk Festival and we plan on celebrating in style Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July 2012 so put it in your diaries as tickets are now on sale.

Last Year

Priddy 2011Although we started with a rather damp Friday evening, the rest of the weekend was perfect under a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. We are known for our relaxed, friendly atmosphere, so to sit out in the open or under canvas listening to music, chatting with friends, or having a drink with everyone else around you is pretty much normal for us. If you want to read more about what people say, then check out the feedback on Facebook and see the photos in the Festival Gallery. Don’t forget to become a fan on Facebook!

Festival Feedback

The Folk Festival puts a lot of emphasis on the feedback we receive. The most requested bands get booked for the following year wherever possible and all suggestions are looked into. The more you tell us, the more we can add to festivals in the future, plus, you get the chance of winning a free ticket!

Stewards

Stewarding at PriddyThe Festival relies on a small army of volunteer stewards who work as part of the trusted stewarding team. We couldn’t run the weekend without people who are prepared to give up some of their weekend in return for a free ticket. If you are interested in being a steward, please download the Stewarding Application Form on the Stewarding at Priddy page.

Priddy Events

Apart from the folk Festival, Priddy has other organisations that also raise money for the village - the famous Priddy Sheep Fair and the very popular Bonfire Night are two of the many fund raising events in the busy Priddy calendar.
