Paul and David Garner

Paul and David Garner

“Brilliant” (Michael McGoldrick)

“A fantastic raw and wild sound” (Mike Wilson)

“Amazing. What energy and kick! The best band I’ve heard” (Phamie Gow)

“Don’t know why I bother listening to Rock music” (A new fan after a gig at Sidmouth)

Brothers David (fiddle) and Paul (whistles) are originally from Co. Durham, a noted hotbed of traditional music.  From a very musical family, they grew up playing Irish, Scottish and Northumbrian music, amongst other things.

Both are award-winning musicians, and touring Europe for the best part of a decade has seen them share stages with the likes of Lunasa, Cara Dillon, Jethro Tull and Newton Faulkner.

Their characteristic style is unfettered by over-arrangement; improvisation coming more naturally, and inspiration coming from as far afield as bluegrass, Breton trad and prog rock.

Back playing gigs together after a couple of years doing other things, they are joined at Priddy by Jon Hicks, one of the most formidable guitarists in Irish music.
