Will Lang is a modern British Folk musician, composer and producer,>who is a core tutor on Newcastle University’s Folk and Traditional Music degree. Will is a well-respected music educator and in the South West has worked on folk education projects with Halsway Manor, Folk South West, Sidmouth Folk Week and Priddy Folk Festival to name a few. Although rooted in Folk music, Will is well known for his collaborations, bringing a folk influence to many prolific performers including Mercury Music Award-winning Nitin Sawhney and has just been commissioned to write a series of folk inspired choral pieces for The National Youth Choir of Great Britain to be premiered in the four corners of the country from 2012-2015. Most recently has started working with Durham Choral Society and Durham Cathedral to create a choral and orchestral work to be premiered in May 2014. It is his work in Folk and wider-reaching genres that enables Will to inspire young musicians who are yet to discover Folk music and encourage them to explore the roots of their traditional music.
