We are very excited to be able to introduce you to these fantastic acts who will be appearing at our festival in 2020!  We think we have booked a wide range of music and artists from all over the world and are absolutely delighted to be able to introduce some new, upcoming acts as well as some very well established artists!

JIGGY has forged a sound very much their own, fusing vocal lilting (port a’ bheil) and Indian Konnakol, traditional Irish music, hip hop dance grooves, world music rhythms and harmonies.  Audiences can expect a thrilling live set of original music and traditional dance tunes.  The band have become something of an internet sensation, with their track ‘King of the Faeries’ clocking up over eight million views.

The inspiration behind the band dates back to 2007 when percussionist Robbie Harris (also of Afro Celt Sound System) collaborated with The Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan in live concerts in Ireland.  While performing together Robbie was stuck by the folk rhythms of Rajastan and how well they suited Irish dance music. With Irish traditional music as a starting point he set up Jiggy to explore Indian grooves in tandem with high-energy Irish music, while adding a dash of modern beats and textures.

Next up we would like to introduce THE FINN COLLINSON BAND.

FINN COLLINSON is a young folk musician and multi-instrumentalist from East Anglia, who is rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the foremost exponents of the recorder on the English Folk Scene.  Finn’s music pushes boundaries, challenging expectations in terms  of instrumentation whilst remaining firmly grounded in the English tradition.  They are sure to enthral you with their energy and diversity.

Here they are with a series of clips which were recorded at Folk East and Sidmouth Festivals.
