2016 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award Winners

Northern Company are a six-piece Folk group from the north of England. Combining Folk with Bluegrass, Classical and Jazz influences, they arrange contemporary and traditional tunes from the British Isles and beyond for melodeon, fiddles, guitar, piano and double bass. They formed in 2015 after years of playing together in various line-ups at music festivals and sessions across the UK. Their music exhibits different styles and allows room for individual personalities to be heard.

The line-up includes students of traditional music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Newcastle University Folk degree.
