Home Tarren

Tarren

Tarren are an ambassador for high quality, English Folk music. Through the incorporation of minimalist musical forms into traditional-inspired material, Tarren are producing music that draws the listener in, weaving intricate themes throughout tunes and songs that have the pulse of traditional dance at its heart.

Tarren is made up of Bristol-based artists Sid Goldsmith (Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith, Awake Arise), Alex Garden (The Drystones, Harriet Riley & Alex Garden) and Danny Pedler (Pedler // Russell). They combine cittern and concertina, fiddle, and accordion to create new, dynamic folk music.

Their debut album REVEL was released to critical acclaim on 29 August 2022. Having toured major cities in the summer of 2022 via the Nest Collective and receiving standing ovations at Shrewsbury, Sidmouth and Broadstairs Folk Festivals, they are about to embark on a spring tour in for April 2023.

“Just the kind of band we need on the folk circuit today. Brilliant!” Folk Radio UK

‘A mini folk supergroup’!…there’s foot-stompery at play here, the likes of which I’ve not heard since the mighty three-piece, Faustus, took a trip to Grimsby.” TradFolk
“Tarren’s music feels traditional, but also fresh and original. It’s joyful, but with deep sensitivity. A freshness that deserves to have wider appeal.” Folkin.Com
