We’re thrilled to report that BBC Countryfile Magazine has listed the Priddy Folk Festival as one of the UK’s Top Ten music festivals!
The article describes the Priddy Festival as “one of the friendliest festivals around” and praises its memorable entertainment and community spirit.
Countryfile Magazine’s curated list of “must-visit weekenders for the summer ahead” also highlights the Festival’s beautiful setting in the Somerset Mendip Hills National Landscape, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Author Matt Baird said festival-goers can expect a wide array of folk music performances, as well as dancing and a dedicated children’s festival as part of a mix of free and ticketed events.
There are also guided archaeological and wildlife walks in the Mendip Hills. Baird gives the Festival’s selection of local ales and ciders a special mention!
The article emphasises that the Festival is a charity venture run entirely by volunteers, and that its profits are channelled back into community causes.
Priddy’s Festival is listed alongside major events across England, Wales and Scotland, including nearby Glastonbury, and Camp Bestival, and the End of the Road.
So if you haven’t already it’s time to get your tickets! There is also camping available above Priddy’s Top Green, overlooking the surrounding countryside.
