Family-friendly session with the Nightjars

Saturday & Sunday 11.15 Fringe
The Nightjars (Katie and Michael) are delighted to be at Priddy again to meet
the musicians of tomorrow.  Expect a guided session of classic and modern tunes from around the British Isles and beyond, with some surprises thrown in. 

Bring an instrument to the session if you have one, and also your favourite tune to play or request. Young and youth musicians are especially welcome, but Priddy kiddies of all ages are welcome too!

Irish session with Katherine Mann & Luke Shaw

Saturday 17.00 Cuthberts

Katherine is a dynamic flute and whistle player whose sound is rooted in the vibrant Birmingham Irish scene and the rich musical heritage of County Clare, giving her a style that’s both deeply traditional and beautifully distinctive.  Now based in the Southwest, she’s a lively presence on the Bristol and Bath session circuits. Alongside performing with ceilidh bands (such as the Barnstormers), Katherine is a passionate teacher sharing her love of the tradition through private lessons and summer schools.

Luke Shaw is in huge demand as an accompanist, favouring driving rhythms and DADGAD tuning. He tours extensively in the UK and Ireland. He currently plays in a duo with Rhi Good (fiddle player), who straddles English and Irish tunes and is a firm fixture across English folk festivals.

Session with Folk @ Pill 

Saturday 15.00 Cuthberts

Folk @ Pill will be leading a session focusing on well-known session tunes. They will also be joining the festival procession with the Lost Giants on Sunday (gather at the Exhibition Space from 12.45).  Please come and listen or even better, bring your instrument and come and join in!
