There’s plenty to do for children of all ages at the Priddy Folk Festival in 2015!

We start both days with a session of songs and rhymes for parents, babies and little ones.

Later, we have the return of the fabulous Martin Maudsley whose musical stories were such a big hit last year.

Martin is a professional storyteller based in the South West of England. His repertoire of stories includes fresh re-tellings of traditional tales, earthy folk-tales, magical myths and epic sagas.

We also are delighted to have Katrine Reimers who has recently started the Priddy school choir. She will be running some family singing workshops. Katrine has worked with thousands of children and adults over the past 15 years, encouraging them to sing together in a variety of styles.

We also welcome Sam from Somerset-based Ceilidh band Squeeze, Fiddle, Pluck who will run a Ceilidh just for the kids. Squeeze, Fiddle, Pluck are a young, fun and exciting Ceilidh band guaranteed to make you dance your socks off. Their repertoire consists of popular folk tunes as well as special arrangements of pop and rock songs.

Andy Hawkings is back with his brilliant Collective Song Writing which he is also running for the adults this year. Andy will helping all to create and play a unique song. Instruments will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own!

The djembe drums will also be back This session is run by Eliza Wylie who has a classical music background and has been teaching music in schools since 2000, specialising for many years in West African music and dance. She runs African drumming workshops all over the UK with schools, community groups and trainee teachers.

Sunday’s Children’s Festival concludes with Glastonbury-based storyteller Sarah Mooney.

Come and join us at the Kids’ Tent for any of the sessions, all are welcome! The sessions are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
