Welcome

Welcome to the internet home of the Priddy Folk Festival.

For those of you who joined us in 2011, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

The Folk Festival started in 1991 as a PTA fund raiser run in the village hall but we have grown a lot since then, and learnt a few lessons along the way whilst remaining true to our roots. A group of volunteers dedicated to bringing good music into Priddy and raising money for the school and other village projects along the way.

2012 will be the 21st birthday of the festival and will be celebrated in style.  Leading up to the main event, there are a series of concerts in Priddy Village Hall.  Will we see you there?  Click here for more information.

What happened in 2011 ?
Every year we seem to say that it's been the best ever Priddy Folk Festival, and once again...
This was the best ever Priddy Folk Festival !
Although Friday evening was damp (very), the rest of the weekend was perfect with blue skies and fluffy white clouds; but it wasn't the weather that made it so special..
Priddy is known for it's relaxed friendly atmosphere, but 2011 took things to a new level; it was a privilege to sit supping a pint, relaxing and chatting with friends amongst so many others doing exactly the same thing - the the music was great too!

Tickets have all Sold Out now! But ...

IF YOU DON’T HAVE A TICKET:

Much of our festival is open to all comers. There’s a lot to see and do even if you don’t have a ticket and parking is available for the whole day for just £2 per car, only a very short walk to the green (sorry no dogs allowed on the festival site).

You are welcome to enjoy our Club tent, where you can see up and coming acts performing each day & evening, and the Children’s festival welcomes all.  Wander around our Trader’s field full of arts, crafts, clothing and music – there’s lots to see and do.  Bring or buy an instrument and join in the non-stop pub sessions or join in an impromptu jam, which could occur at any time – absolutely anywhere!  Dance, sing or just chill out with a drink from our bar, eat from a choice of cuisines and watch the miniature world that is Priddy on this very special weekend.

*****Above all, do come along and be part of the ‘friendliest folk festival in England’*****

Have a look on our Facebook page for video clips of all the festival acts to get an idea of the great music over the weekend. The connection to our Facebook page is just below.

Details about the artistes can be found under the What's On.

Who we are...

The festival is run by a committee of volunteers and raises money to support the school and community groups within the village. Priddy has other organisations that also raise money for the village - the famous Priddy Sheep Fair and the very popular Bonfire Night are two of the many fund raising events in the busy Priddy calendar.

In 2010 we gave money

  • to the school for art and music tuition fees.

  • to the playgroup for musical instruments

  • to the village Art Festival including a childrens' photography workshop

  • to subsidise Belly Dance lessons at the Ladies Keep Fit

  • for maintenance of the Green
  • as a contribution to a new mower for the Church

  • to support the school chess club
  • for a screen and projector for the village hall
