Festival Site Camping

The Festival Campsite

The festival campsite is situated above Priddy green, it surrounds the Village hall and the Church.  From almost all of the site there are good views of the rather lovely surrounding countryside and in particular of the ancient barrows on the next rise (and one in the camping field!).

Festival goers come to the campsite and make it their own each year.  Most of the campsite is freestyle- with some groups of people in tents, caravans and motor homes meeting up to attend the festival- but often it’s in ones and twos.  One of our fields is just for tents.  Our experience is that most people are very considerate when coming back to their tents after enjoying the festival.

The campsite is equipped with lots of trailer toilets and hot showers too.  There are plenty of water points, recycling facilities and various other luxuries the modern camper expects. More information can be found about below in the Camping Information section.

Camping is available only at the time you book weekend tickets- we have been selling out of camping tickets early for some years, so try to book for Priddy Festival as soon as you can.   Stewards don’t pay for festival tickets, or for camping – ever thought of being a steward?  If you are too late to book camping this year, then see below for alternative accommodation!

Important Camping Information

As you near the festival follow the Priddy Festival signs to the campsite, please ignore your satnav. The campsite opens at 10.00am on Friday. Have your e-mail / tickets ready to show at the campsite entrance gate – either printed or downloaded onto a mobile device. Unless you are a volunteer Steward with pre-event duties, PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE EARLIER THAN 10AM ON FRIDAY, as the campsite will not be accessible.

On arrival the Stewards will help you choose where to camp:

  • There is a strictly ‘Tents Only’ field where tents can be pitched singly or in groups.
  • All the other fields are for any grouping of Caravans, motorhomes, tents etc.
  • In the Tents Only field are some “park along the road” localities. Tents can be pitched right next your car in more relaxed car free zones.
  • In the sloping field please park vehicles across the slope or bumper to bumper around the central zone.
  • There are lots of 6m square marked pitches if you would like to camp in one. Space is limited, so PLEASE DON’T PITCH ANYTHING OUTSIDE YOUR ALOTTED AREA.
  • Please park where you will be camping and try to avoid driving your vehicle during the festival. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE AFTER DARK, EXCEPT IN AN EMERGENCY. In any case, seek the assistance of a Steward.

The campsite has mobile flush toilets, mobile heated showers, recycling facilities and a chemical toilet disposal point.  Our water points supply clean and drinkable water through sterilized pipes.  Please check the location of your nearest Fire Point when you are at your chosen pitch.

Remember the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning Devon & SomersetFire & Rescue Service advises you to keep lit and even “extinguished” barbecues out of tents; the combustion of most fuels used on campsites can create carbon monoxide.

With the exception of Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs – DOGS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE FESTIVAL SITE, CAR PARKS OR CAMPSITE. This restriction is one of the conditions of our licence.

Open fires are NOT allowed on the campsite. Barbecues must be at least 150mm off the turf whilst in use- please bring your own bricks (or similar!). IN THE EVENT OF HOT DRY WEATHER, ALL BARBECUES WILL BE BANNED, OWING TO THE INCREASED RISK OF FIRE

DO NOT OBSTRUCT THE MARKED EMERGENCY ROADWAYS– park off the roadway before unloading please.

Access to the paid for venues is by wristband ONLY. To get your wristbands, present your ticket/ e-mail at the Festival Office on the Festival Green, which is open from 10am -10pm on the Friday of the festival, 9am-10pm on Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sunday.  The souvenir programme will be available in the Festival Office.

We look forward to welcoming you to Priddy and know you’ll have a great time!
