A new duo made up of two familiar names are heading to this year’s Priddy as the latest act to be announced. James Delarre and Saul Rose are well known individually on the English folk scene and both played in different guises at last year’s Priddy.
Fiddle player James appeared at Priddy twice last year, fronting the folk rock band Mawkin and with the Anglo french outfit Topette!! James has also appeared playing on the BBC’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘London’s Calling’.
Saul is also well-known to Priddy regulars as one third of the outstanding trio Faustus. He is one of the leading melodeon players in the country and is also a worked with Kings of Calicutt along with multi BBC Folk Award winners Eliza Carthy and Nancy Kerr.
James and Saul first met in 2007 when they were both part of a band playing music for the dance troupe Morris Offspring. They became firm friends and continued to meet up regularly to play the night away.
Every time they meet the music flows. And we are looking forward to welcoming to the stage at Priddy in July to savour the delight and beauty of the music they make together.
