The Ukrainian vocal ensemble Kozachky was created in October 2022 in Bristol and is led by Anna Pyshniuk.
She writes: “All these charming girls were united by their love for Ukrainian songs. Women, together with children, were forced to leave their native homes, their families, because a great calamity occurred in their country. And this disaster is war!
All of them are from different parts of Ukraine: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Berdychiv, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Melitopol. They all have different professions – among them are musicians, singers, managers, teachers, scientists, doctors, cosmetologists… But all of them are united by music, love for singing and their native Ukraine. Today, with their singing, they want to convey to you the culture of their people and love for the Ukrainian song!”
